Cambewarra Mountain
Taken from a concertina postcard of Cambewarra. Cover reads: Cambewarra Mountain is an extinct volcanic mountain - Cambewarra is an aboriginal word meaning "Smoke coming out of mountain". Height above sea level is 2,225ft. The panorama of the coast is about 90 miles, from Gerringong in the north past Ulladulla in the south. The direct view takes in Jervis Bay and Naval College, George's Basin and Sussex Inlet, with Nowra and Bomaderry and Shoalhaven Paper Mills and Horlick's Factory on the Shoalhaven River in the foreground. The large settlement in the south-east is the Air Station - the H.M.A.S. Albatross.
