Shoalhaven Street, Nowra
109 Shoalhaven Street This home was built by C.A. Jarman in 1934 for Mr and Mrs William Frederick Calcraft. Mr Calcraft came to Nowra around 1921 when he was appointed manager of the Australasian Bank of Commerce. With the amalgamation in 1931, the Bank of Commerce became the Bank of New South Wales and Calcraft was first manager of the "Wales". He spent 16 years in charge of Nowra banks. He had returned from World War I with a leg injury which left him with a limp. Mrs Calcraft was the daughter of Mr William Watts, of Numbaa. From Building Survey of Nowra: A Series of Streetscapes, 1992.
